The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the Governorship Candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP) and the incumbent Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri as winner of Adamawa State Governorship Election.
According to INEC, Fintiri polled a total of 430,861 votes to defeat Senator Aishatu Binani Dahiru of the All Progressive Congress (APC) who got 398,788 votes.
The Election was declared inconclusive after March 18 Governorship poll with Finitiri leading with over 30,000 votes. However, a supplementary election was conducted in 69 polling units and Fintiri polled 9,337 votes to defeat Senator Aishatu Binani Dahiru of the APC.
Announcing the Adamawa Governorship Election Result, Prof Mohammed Mele, INEC returning officer noted that Finitri has met the requirement of the law and therefore return elected.
